Moderately priced stores open at King of Prussia Mall

KING OF PRUSSIA - Nov. 29, 2012

The new 27,000-square-foot H&M opened today -- though we got a sneak peek inside just prior to the grand opening. This new store will replace the smaller, existing H&M in the Plaza, and carries men's women's and children's clothes.

"They're a very trend-setting international retailer," explains Kathy Smith, the mall's director of marketing and development. "They're very New Yorkish, they're all over th country now, but they do carry quality merchandise at moderate prices that appeals to every body."

Among the opening-weekend specials that H&M is offering, for women, $18 t-shirt sfor $7, $30 cardigans for $10, and $40 blazers for $20. Junior party dresses are $10 or $15, $30 men's plaid shirts for $15, $20 cardigans for $10, and $35 henley pullover sweaters for $15.

The price points at the mall's other new store, C. Wonder by Chris Burch, are a bit higher. But the merchandise is designer quality -- with details like 18-carat gold plating on accessories, meant-to-show linings on shirts and blazers, and $10 monogramming available.

Smith says, "The merchandise is very eclectic. It's ladies' fashion, it's accessories, and it's home merchandise."
