Cutting kids' salt could cut sugary drinks, too

Too many sugary drinks can lead to extra pounds in kids. Now a new study shows the cycle may start with salt.

Australian researchers found that kids who eat more salt in their diet, drink more soda and other sweetened beverages.

And those drinking more sweet drinks are more likely to be overweight.

The doctors say cutting back on processed and take-out foods can make a big dent in salt intake, for both kids and their parents.
