Jolly now has a new home for the holidays.
Tails wagged when Jolly met his new foster mom Dawn Donohue Saturday at the Animal Adoption Center in Lindenwold.
"I foster many animals usually ones with medical needs," said Dawn Donohue. "I've been doing it over ten years."
Two weeks ago, Cumberland County SPCA officials found Jolly and his sister Silverbell chained to a fence.
The pit bull mix was malnourished and covered in sores.
Jolly has already gained twenty pounds since his rescue.
"You can see he put on weight. He's made a lot of improvement," she said.
Donohue, who happens to be a vet tech, will continue to nurse him to health until he is adoptable.
But the Animal Adoption Center still needs help from the community with Jolly's recovery is not only a long process, but it will be a pricey one as well.
It will take Jolly about six months to be able to be adoptable.
Volunteers are still trying to find a rescue center to provide sister Silverbell with the care she needs.
