More than 20 people have been displaced by a fire that damaged four residences in central Pennsylvania.

Fire officials say the blaze broke out Sunday evening on West Princess Street in York.

York City Fire/Rescue Services Chief David Michaels says the fire spread quickly through the walls and ceilings of the two duplexes. Crews were able so safely remove Christmas gifts from under the tree of one of the residences.

The American Red Cross reports 21 people were displaced by the fire.
