Suspect arrested in University City Burglaries

UNIVERSITY CITY - February 28, 2013

The incident happened on January 18th around 7:30 a.m. at the City Tap House located in the 3900 block of Walnut Street.

Officials say, 54-year-old Anthony Dent was captured on surveillance video when he entered the building.

Once inside, Dent went to an office and took a laptop computer and then police say, he went to the freezer and took assorted meats and fled on foot through the rear emergency exit door near the Chipotle Restaurant.

On January 26th around 5:30 a.m., police say, Dent was captured on surveillance video entering a building located on the 3800 block of Chestnut Street.

According to police, he pried the side door open with a large screwdriver. Once inside, he took assorted power tools and then placed them into a parked vehicle.

Dent then returned several times, police say, taking items from the building and was captured on surveillance video on 39th Street where he placed the tools into a parked silver Volvo XC90 and fled.

On February 22, 2013, Anthony Dent was arrested on the 1600 block of 62nd Street.

Dent is from the 1600 block of 62nd Street. He is charged with multiple burglaries and related offenses.
