A suspended Bucks County administrator has been charged with stealing thousands of dollars from a township sports organization.

53-year-old Robert Butts surrendered to authorities Friday.

He is charged with stealing $24,000 from the Middletown Athletic Association while he served as that group's treasurer.

Investigators say he used the money to pay for trips to a strip club, and to buy back his foreclosed home.

Butts served as finance director for Lower Southampton, Pa. in 2012 before he was suspended.

After his arraignment Friday, Butts was released on $25,000 bail.
