The double shooting happened around 10:00 p.m. on the 700 block of South 4th Street.
Both victims were found shot and wounded and taken to Cooper Medical Center, officials say.
The male victim in his 20's was pronounced dead a short time later and the women was shot in the leg and treated.
Their names have not been released.
Police have made no arrests and continue to investigate the incident.
