Twenty-eight-year-old Pottstown resident Roger Tracy Malloy was sentenced Thursday to six to 12 years in prison. He had pleaded guilty to two counts of homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence of a controlled substance in connection with the May 2012 crash, in which he lost control and hit a utility pole in Pottstown.
The accident killed Malloy's housemate, 28-year-old James N. Crawford, and 15-year-old Rachel Witt. A third rear-seat passenger suffered head trauma and internal injuries.
Malloy apologized to the victims' families. He says it was an accident and he wished it had never happened.
