The incident happened around 3:00 a.m. on the 1700 block of Georges Lane.
The 46-year-old victim was injured but refused treatment.
Authorities say the driver's side of a dump truck was also shot out.
It's not clear if the man was in the truck at the time of the shooting.
Police are trying to determine who shot the man and why.
The victim's name has not been released.
