Jason and Courtney Lawler adopted Ben, a 70-pound mutt about a year ago.
But after a while, Ben escaped - and ended up ten miles away at a humane shelter.
There, Ben ended up becoming attached to a German Shepherd mix named Jade, who was also being housed at the shelter.
When the Lawlers found their adopted pet, they also found that the two dogs were inseparable - so they decided to adopt Jade, too.
A year later the two are still adjusting, but the couple tells a local newspaper that things are "working out pretty good" for the canine couple Ben and Jade.
