It happened early Tuesday inside Thayer Hall on 14th Street.
Initial reports indicate that a man gained entrance to the dorm by following an unsuspecting student as they entered.
Once inside the suspect wandered around until he was able to gain entrance to an unoccupied room.
Officials say students erred on the side of safety and notified school police. Authorities later arrested the man.
The incident remains under investigation.
