The Philadelphia District Attorney's office announced the upgraded charges Thursday against Amber Hellesten.
Hellesten was arrested after last week's stabbing of 14-year-old Azim Chaplin in the 2100 block of Watkins Street in South Philadelphia.
Chaplin suffered a stab wound to the chest and remained in critical condition at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia until he succumbed of his injuries Tuesday.
Hellesten was arrested and originally held on Attempted Murder charges.
She is now charged with Murder, Aggravated and Simple Assault and related offenses.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 4th.
