The Paulsboro School District has taken a step toward filing a lawsuit related to the November 2012 train derailment.

The district has hired environmental attorney Bradley Campbell.

The superintendent of schools says the district will be looking for damages due to the disruption in class time.

Three school buildings had to be closed for more than two weeks when seven train cars derailed over the Mantua Creek Bridge.

A toxic chemical was spilled in the derailment.
