Tractor-trailer brings down utility poles in Runnemede

RUNNEMEDE, N.J. - April 1, 2014

The accident happened around 1:15 p.m. on North Black Horse Pike at East 9th Avenue.

Runnemede police say the crews from PSE&G were running line down in the area.

They attempted to run a line across the street but did not inform the officer on scene.

A tractor-trailer drove down the street, got caught in the lines and brought down four poles.

Authorities say a PSE&G worker was hospitalized with minor injuries.

Police evacuated a nearby business, fearing that a pole would fall.

Police also say the accident knocked out power to at least four blocks in Runnemede, including the police station, for several hours.
