Police say the collision sent the Coach USA charter bus careening into a tree.
The driver of the pickup truck was killed instantly.
WABC-TV reports only the bus driver and one passenger were on the bus at the time of the crash.
The driver had to be extricated and was airlifted to an area hospital.
The passenger was treated for minor injuries.
