Philadelphia Police say a 16-year-old girl who went missing after leaving her school in North Philadelphia has been found.

Nakyra Newson was last seen Monday afternoon getting off a SEPTA bus in North Philadelphia.

Newson's mother said she got a call from her daughter at 3:00 p.m. saying she was on her way home from school.

She was riding a SEPTA Route 18 bus with a friend and got off the bus alone at Broad and Erie, police say.

Her family raised concerns when no one had heard from her and there was no activity on her social media accounts.

Police say Wednesday, Nakyra was found and safely reunited with her family.
