Chester man missing after leaving medical facility

FORT WASHINGTON, Pa. - April 16, 2014

35-year-old Najid Owens was discharged from Brooke Glen Psychiatric facility in Fort Washington on Thursday, April 10th.

He was given $11 in cash and instructions on how to take public transportation, but he never arrived home in Chester.

His family says they were not notified of his discharge until four days later.

Officials say Owens has the mental capacity of a 13-year-old and is in desperate need of his medication.

Owens is described as an African-American male 5'9" and 130 pounds.

He has two tattoos on his left arm. The upper arm reads 'Najid' and the lower arm reads 'R.I.P.Mom.'

Owens was last seen leaving Brooke Glen wearing a red and black flannel jacket and blue jeans.

Anyone who sees him or knows his whereabouts is urged to contact police immediately.
