House gutted in South Philadelphia blaze

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - April 25, 2014

The fire broke out just before 3:00 a.m. on the 300 block of West Porter Street.

Firefighters arrived to heavy flames showing on both floors of the house.

It took them about twenty-five minutes to get the blaze under control.

The house was completely gutted and a neighboring house suffered roof damage.

Crews remained on the scene putting out several hot spots.

There were no reports of injuries or word on what sparked the blaze.
