The internet loves facts, and we are people pleasers so today we are dropping some pretty fun knowledge straight from the Disney movie secret chamber of Disney stuff. (Not a real place). See how many of these behind-the-scenes stories from the making of some of your favorite Disney movies are news to you:
1. When Flounder is talking about Scuttle in The Little Mermaid, he physically transforms into the seagull for a few frames.
Things we will never unsee include this frame.
2. The constellation Leo is in the night sky when Mufasa is talking to Simba in The Lion King.
Can you spot it?
3. In Beauty and the Beast, the line, "Flowers...chocolates...promises you don't intend to keep." was ad-libbed.
The line, said by David Ogden Stiers, was kept in to make the characters feel more like real people, err, objects.
4. Pascal from Tangled was almost a squirrel.
We're glad they went chameleon.
5. The anemone in Finding Nemo was animated using the same technology as Sulley's hair.
Instead of letting gravity pull the tendrils down (like animators had for Sulley's hair in Monsters, Inc.), they programmed them to stand up and wave around in the water.
6. Many of the drawings in Ellie's adventure book in UP were drawn by Pete Docter's daughter.
So adorable...oh man, we're tearing up. Darn it, UP! Every time!
7. Animators working on Mulan brewed 1,630 pounds of coffee during production.
That's a lot of coffee, but don't fret: Mulan took 5 years to complete. We're sure the coffee was sipped accordingly.
8. Baymax's motions in Big Hero 6 are modeled after baby penguins.
Of course! It seems so obvious now that we know. Baby penguins and Baymax are the two cutest things we can think of. Clearly one inspired the other.
9. If Queen Elinor from Brave unraveled her hair, it would be 6 feet, 6 inches long.
No wonder she keeps it pulled back. We feel like Elinor would have thoughts about that much hair dragging on the floor.
Did you already know any of these facts?
