Driver flees scene after killing a pedestrian in North Philadelphia early Saturday morning

Police say the victim, a man in his 60's, was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he died from his injuries.

Philadelphia police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a man dead in North Philadelphia
Philadelphia police are searching for a driver who killed a man in North Philadelphia. Police say the crash happened early Saturday morning near 23rd Street and Ridge Avenue.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are searching for a driver wanted in a deadly hit-and-run in North Philadelphia.

Officials say the victim was hit near the intersection of North 23rd Street and Ridge Avenue.

The fatal crash happened just before 5 a.m. Saturday.

Police say the victim, 64-year-old Raymond Hodgins, was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he died.

According to investigators, a gray minivan involved was damaged in the crash, which may make it easier to identify.
