PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia was awash in green on Valentine's Day to celebrate its Super Bowl champion Eagles.

Swooning fans screamed and cheered Friday as MVP quarterback Jalen Hurts and Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie took turns hoisting the Vince Lombardi Trophy at the start of the team's victory parade through the City of Brotherly Love.

Many fans camped out along the team's parade route overnight, huddling under blankets and inside tents to secure prime spots near the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where the Eagles took the stage on the "Rocky" steps.

"You know I told myself that when I got drafted, that I wouldn't come to the Rocky steps until I won a championship," Hurts told cheering fans. "And now we're here."

Fans snag spot early for the best place to watch parade

People are out early, bundled up and repping their best Eagles gear to get the best spot they can for the Super Bowl victory parade Friday.

One man who spoke with Action News said he arrived seven hours early.

"I'm bundled up. Three layers of everything - socks, thermals, got the face mask. We got a few snacks if we need it so once we're here, we're not moving. That's what we said. So, we're good," said Nadeem Latif, from Northeast Philadelphia.

Expect limited cell phone service along parade route

We know a lot of people will be along the parade route Friday, with the city expecting more than 1 million people.

Many parade-goers will be using cellphones, and that means service bandwidth could be faulty or slow.

Those waiting had to buy their tickets in advance. There are no day-of tickets available.

"You must arrive at the station in parade day with a fare instrument in hand - either a loaded Key Card or a one day pass that we're selling. We're going to pre-validate everybody's fare instrument before they board," says SEPTA's Interim General Manager, Scott Sauer.

Regional Rail lines will run on limited, modified service from 4:30 a.m. through 10:50 p.m. on Friday.

Regional trains will operate inbound-only in the morning and outbound-only after the parade.

Officials warned ahead of the big day that there is no guarentee you'll get a seat if you have a Ket Card or one-day parade pass.

Each train can only hold 1,000 people at a time, so fans show plan to arrive early.

Service to Center City will be available via Jefferson and 30th Street stations, which SEPTA officials note is a short walk from the parade route.
