Fmr. Philadelphia police officer in assault case faces additional charges

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A former Philadelphia police officer charged with assaulting a female police officer on four different occasions was arrested again.

24-year-old Kenneth Allen was charged with 2 counts of Violating a Protection from Abuse order.

Allen was arraigned overnight and his bail was set at $15,000.

His next court appearances for the new charges is scheduled for October 30.

Earlier in the month, the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office charged Allen with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Criminal Mischief and Possession of an Instrument of a Crime.

According to the DA, Allen and the other officer were in a relationship at the time of the assaults.

He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on these charges on October 20.
