Lisa Thomas-Laury honored for commitment to Delaware Valley

LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. (WPVI) -- One of Philadelphia's favorites and a beloved member of the Action News family was honored for her longstanding commitment to the Delaware Valley.

Lisa Thomas Laury was celebrated during a special luncheon Monday at the Green Valley Country Club.

The former 6abc anchor was praised for her groundbreaking work in journalism and her efforts to empower girls.

The event was part of Gerald Henderson Junior's Charity Golf Invitational which raised funds for the Community Partnership School in North Philadelphia.

Action News anchor Sharrie Williams served as emcee for the luncheon and program.
