Coast Guard responds to oil spill in Philadelphia Navy Yard

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Philadelphia Fire Department and the U.S. Coast Guard responded to an oil spill in South Philadelphia on Thursday.

They were called to the Navy Yard just before 9:30 a.m.

The fire department said about 100 gallons of oil spilled, some into the river.

The leak is now contained and under control.

It is not clear what caused the spill.
