Investigation: Councilman confronted over city car

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- Nearly a year ago, Atlantic City council members were stripped of their take-home cars, and were told to only use them for official business.

Leading the charge was Councilman George Tibbitt who, even back in 2012, voluntarily agreed to turn in his city car.

So imagine our surprise when we saw a municipal car parked in front of his house during multiple random checks in the last four months.

We also found him unloading materials from his municipal car to the home he is building, taking it to Home Depot to shop for construction supplies and even saw his son driving his city issued car.
