STRAWBERRY MANSION (WPVI) -- Police say two men are in custody after a fatal shooting in the city's Strawberry Mansion section.
It happened shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday along the 2800 block of Huntingdon Street.
Police say someone opened fire at point-blank range on a 27-year-old man, striking him four times in the chest, twice in the back, once in the left side of his face and once in the right side of his neck.
The victim was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 8:08 p.m.
Based on witness information, police attempted to stop a vehicle they say was operating out of control at 25th and Cumberland.
Two men inside the vehicle bailed, a chase ensued and the suspects were taken into custody shortly after.
A weapon was recovered, police say, but no word on a motive.
