WARRINGTON TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- An apparent murder/suicide of a married couple in Warrington Township is under investigation.
Police were called to the home of a 58-year-old man and his 56-year-old wife around 11:20 a.m. Saturday in the 2400 block of North Greensward Road.
A concerned friend contacted police after not speaking with the woman for a few days, who had also missed a scheduled meeting Friday.
Upon entering the home, police said they discovered the man's body in the master bedroom with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
The man's wife was found on the bathroom floor with at least one gunshot wound to the back, police said.
The family dogs, a mixed breed and a Pomeranian, suffered fatal gunshot wounds, police said. They were found lying on the kitchen floor.
Police recovered a H&K .40 caliber handgun registered to the husband at the scene.
The case is under investigation.
