Officials say the car went off Freedom Pier, a fishing spot in Gloucester City, and plunged into the river.
CAMDEN COUNTY, New Jersey (WPVI) -- Three Camden County police officers helped rescue a woman after her car went into the Delaware River Thursday afternoon.
Officials say the car went off Freedom Pier, a fishing spot in Gloucester City, and plunged into the river just after 1 p.m.
The vehicle was located upside down at the time officers arrived.
Gloucester City police say three officers then jumped into the river to extract the female victim from the vehicle.
The officers and the female victim were then transported by three Good Samaritans to a nearby floating dock.
Officials say officers continued medical treatment on the female victim until the Gloucester City Fire Department arrived.
Emergency crews searched the vehicle for any additional occupants.
No other occupants were located in the vehicle, officials say.
So far, there is no word yet on the female victim's condition.
