Cop fired over patrol car sex drops appeal

LOWER TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - February 15, 2008 Bruce Miller was dismissed from the force for having sex while on duty dozens of times from 1999 to 2005. Locations including his patrol car, an airplane hangar and a recreational vehicle one lover says was known as "the love shack."

Miller -- who says the sex occurred while he was on breaks -- went to court to get his job back. But he dropped the matter due to the presence of reporters at a recent administrative law hearing on the matter.

Miller's lawyer says his client wanted to spare his children any more negative publicity.
