Report: Former Atlantic City mayors can't repay settlement

Atlantic City, NJ. - April 8, 2008

Lorenzo Langford and William Marsh were awarded the money as part of a settlement that Atlantic City paid them stemming from a lawsuit they filed. The two claim they had been fired from board of education jobs due to political retaliation.

But the state Supreme Court ordered the two to return the money last year because Langford was mayor when the city granted the settlement.

According to legal documents obtained by The Press of Atlantic City, the men say they have spent the money on lawyers fees, taxes and relatives, among other things.
