Bandits target Sunoco minimarkets

PHILADELPHIA - June 26, 2008 Since March, they have been targeting Sunoco A-Plus minimarkets, getting away with thousands of dollars. Still, their itch to rob has not stopped, and now they've been captured on videotape.

Police say the two are believed responsible for as many as nine armed holdups. Surveillance cameras captured them as they carried out one of the holdups at the Sunoco in the 5900 block of Wissahickon Avenue. One of the bandits was holding a black handgun throws a bag at the store clerks and tells them, 'Alright, you know the routine. Fill it up with cash."

This Sunoco in East Falls was hit twice. Police say the bandits also robbed the Sunoco in the 5700 block of Roosevelt Boulevard in Mayfair four times. The Sunoco in the 6800 block of rising sun Avenue was struck three times. In one instance, they got away with fourteen thousand dollars in cash. Still, they keep coming back for more.

With the exception of one, the holdups have taken place in the late night or early morning hours. Police worry that sooner or later, somebody's going to get hurt. If you recognize the bandits in the video or know who they are, you're being asked to call police.
