Man on bike injured after colliding with deer

HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - July 18, 2008 Police say George Ljutich and Cynthia Mooney were pedaling on Washington Crossing Pennington Road when a car traveling in the opposite direction hit the deer Thursday.

Police say the impact propelled the animal into their path.

Ljutich was thrown from the bike and struck his head on the pavement. Mooney sustained cuts and bruises.

Both were wearing helmets.

Ljutich was transferred to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.
