The president of the Philadelphia Home and School Council is accused of misusing more than $122,000 in funds from the nonprofit organization. Police say 53-year-old Greg Wade was arrested Monday and charged with embezzling at least $60,000 in council funds and writing another $62,000 worth of bad checks from council accounts.

According to court documents, he faces charges ranging from theft and forgery to tampering with records and deceitful business practices.

Wade is free on bail awaiting a preliminary hearing Nov. 17.

Efforts to contact him were unsuccessful.
