Counting on your iPhone could be illegal

LAS VEGAS (AP) - February 16, 2009

But one sort of counting is illegal.

Nevada gambling regulators are warning casinos about a card-counting app for Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch.

The program could help players beat the house in blackjack.

While card counting itself is not illegal, it's considered a felony to use a device to do it.

Blackjack players can gain an advantage by keeping track of the cards that have already been dealt.
