Nothing but snake eyes for Atlantic City casinos

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - February 22, 2009 The Trump casinos aren't the only ones suffering from Atlantic City's accelerating economic downturn.

The Tropicana Casino and Resort is expected to file for bankruptcy next month.

Resorts Atlantic City - the first casino in New Jersey - could also become the first to be foreclosed on.

New Jersey Casino Control Commission Linda Kassekert says it's one of the worst times for the industry in its 31-year history.

The global recession is affecting people's discretionary income, while competition from slots in neighboring states is also having an impact.
