Del. man found guilty in slaying

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - March 17, 2009 The jury also found Jamaien Monroe guilty on Monday of weapons charges, reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child.

At sentencing set for June 24, Monroe faces up to life in prison for the murder of Andre "Gus" Ferrell, plus additional years for the other crimes.

According to testimony, Monroe shot and wounded Farrell in January 2006, one day after Monroe and two other men tried to take a gold chain from Ferrell.

About 14 months later, the men drove past each other in the Taylortown Shopping Center in Bear. Prosecutors say Monroe ran to his girlfriend's apartment to get a gun and returned to the shopping center to shoot Ferrell.
