WILMINGTON, Del. - April 23, 2009 - County officials announced Wednesday that 157 workers agreed to
the pay cut. County Executive Chris Coons says it will save
$900,000 in fiscal year 2010, which starts July 1.
Last week, three unions accepted the 5 percent pay reduction,
which will save $2.2 million. However, Local 3911, the emergency
services workers union, rejected the plan. Negotiations are ongoing
with Lodge 5 of the Fraternal Order of Police.
