FBI raids Lehigh Valley attorney's office

S. WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. - April 29, 2009 Investigators came looking for more documents supporting their cases against the prominent Lehigh Valley lawyer.

All said, Karoly is accused of laundering more than half a million dollars through a charity and a church, failing to pay taxes on $5.2 million of income over a three year period, and allegedly submitting bogus wills to collect proceeds from the estate of his brother, Peter Karoly, who was killed in a plane crash two years ago.

When the FBI raid ended, Karoly's attorney told us he would've gladly submitted the documents the agents were looking for, and came just short of calling today's raid nothing but a "photo op" for the media.

"They've got a bullseye on John Karoly and they have weak cases against Mr. Karoly. They just keeping doing what they can do to shake the trees and make him look bad. I've said this before, we are going to fight this case to the end," Karoly's attorney Bob Goldman said.

The formal charged against Karoly include mail fraud, tax evasion, wire fraud, money laundering, just to name a few. Karoly has maintained his innocence throughout the whole process.
