Saving on beauty products

PHILADEPHIA - May 18, 2009

Our latest Saving with 6abc tip is just for you.

Beauty expert Jenn Falik tries hundreds of products each season then shares her favorite finds with us. She says a lot of drug store brands are using the same technology and ingredients as department store brands - which means you can get great results for less!

Vichy's Normaderm is a European cult favorite and now available in the U.S. for $21.

Jenn Falik, beauty expert tells Action News: "I love this lotion because it's oil free, still light - it's going to moisturize so you're comfortable but it's also going to help clear up oversized pores, acne, breakouts - all the stuff you don't want."

At $42 - Oil of Olay's Pro-X deep wrinkle treatment is pricey by drug store standards - but Jenn says it'll save you from spending hundreds on dermatology appointments and prescription potions!

"This is a product that has caffeine peptides," Falik said, "all of these ingredients in high-potency combinations to give you good results over time."

Vaseline's Aloe Fresh Protection Lotion is perfect for sensitive skin plus it's incredibly light and provides SPF protection. It's just $5.49!

And there's a Wet and Wild lip pencil is just 99¢!

"The color is 666. I learned about it from celebrity makeup artists because they swear by it. You fill in your entire lip with it - it works with any skin tone. Put a little clear gloss over it, and you have a great neutral lip."

No matter where you shop - look for multi-tasking makeup like eye shadow palettes.

"All the shadows can be used for different things.. Blue eyeliner is a big trend.. Don't buy yourself blue eyeliner - take the shadow here, wet your brush, and make your own blue eyeliner."

Use the neutral shadows to highlight your cheeks!
