Missing man's body found in NJ

NATIONAL PARK, N.J. - May 20, 2009 It happened just before 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night near the Grove Avenue Bridge, which connects West Deptford with National Park.

An unidentified man was getting off the back of a jet ski at a dock off the Cattails Bar and Grill when eyewitnesses say he fell off the dock into the murky water.

He wasn't wearing a lifejacket.

Emergency crews arrived and began operations.

After a couple of hours, the search turned from a rescue to a recovery operation.

Officials say the area is a hotspot for recreational boating and jet skiing.

The creek, however, can be treacherous and has been the scene of several accidents in recent years.

Officials say the tide can be very dangerous to navigate and to swim with or against.

The man's body was found right before 11:00 p.m.
