Car slams into utility pole in Lower Merion

A driver was injured overnight in Lower Merion when they lost control of their car and slid into a utility pole. The accident happened just before midnight on Lancaster Avenue near the intersection of City Avenue.

The crash caused the pole to crack, taking down wires.

The driver was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. There is no word on the extent of the injuries sustained in the crash.

The area was closed for a time as PECO crews worked to restore power. Lanes have since been reopened to traffic.
