Authorities in suburban Philadelphia say an early-morning fire at an apartment building sent about 18 people, some of them children, to nearby hospitals, but no serious injuries were reported.

The blaze at the Bucks Landing apartments in Warminster was reported just before 5 a.m. Sunday. Firefighters say a third-floor apartment in building C at the complex was destroyed and there was smoke and water damage to the first and second floors.

An Abington Memorial Hospital official says about 15 people were brought to the emergency room for treatment, but all had been discharged within a few hours. Doylestown Hospital spokeswoman Karen McCurdy says three minors were treated at the hospital for smoke inhalation and breathing difficulties, but all were released.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
