Teen girl hit by car in Gloucester Twp.

A teenage girl was struck by a car Wednesday afternoon as she was leaving school.The accident happened around 11:45 a.m. in front of Timber Creek High School in Gloucester Township, New Jersey.

The school had an early dismissal, and the 14-year-old girl was crossing Jarvis Road near Arlington Drive on her way to a friend's house when she was hit.

Police say the girl told them she was not paying attention when she went into the street. Police also say she was not in the crosswalk at the time.

The driver of the vehicle was found not to be at fault.

The teen was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries then released.
