The robbery happened around 2:00 at the bank branch located at 50 West State Street.
According to investigators, the suspect entered the bank, approached the teller and began asking her about opening a checking account. While talking to the teller he handed her a note stating that 'this was a robbery, he had a gun and that he wanted the money.'
The teller complied, handing over an unspecified amount of cash.
The suspect fled on foot. He is described as a black male wearing a Black Puffy Jacket and Black Skull Cap.
There were several customers in the bank at the time of the incident, but fortunately no one was injured.
