EGG HARBOR City, N.J. (AP) - March 14, 2010

The governor's order issued Sunday allows state police to limit access to impacted areas and order evacuations.

Hundreds were being evacuated from their homes as swollen rivers flooded numerous neighborhoods, especially in northern areas. The storm brought winds gusting as strong as 70 mph, and about 2 to 5 inches of rain fell Saturday. The rain continued into Sunday and more is expected early Monday.

Public Service Electric & Gas reported about 120,000 customers without power as of 10:30 p.m., while Jersey Central Power and Light had about 70,000 customers in the dark and Atlantic City Electric had about 1,000.

Some in northern New Jersey may not have power back until Tuesday night.
