Jersey shore hit hard by weekend storm

VENTNOR, N.J. - March 15, 2010

In Ventnor, the beach near Newport Ave. showed signs of significant erosion. It was a result of not just the most recent storm, but the terrible winter we've suffered through so far.

"The only thing they can really do now is have a big project where they can pump sand in to replenish the beaches, but that's expensive," said Harry Swain of Egg Harbor Township. "In this environment, I'm not sure there's going to be the money to do that."

Some people ventured out to see the beach for themselves, and even some die-hard surfers could be seen in the ocean.

Meanwhile, in Atlantic City, 330 people remain evacuated from their homes after a crane collapse over the weekend.
