BLAIRSVILLE, Pa. (AP) - April 25, 2010

The Indiana County Coroner's office says 7-year-old Kirsten Tolley and her 6-year-old Katrina sister died from smoke inhalation in the fire at the Blairsville home early Sunday.

According to the coroner's office, residents of the home, Travis and Erin Lee Jordan and their young daughter, escaped the flames and were being evaluated an area hospital.

Blairsville police officer Robert Shaw says he and another officer tried to get in to rescue the girls through the front and back doors but were driven back by the flames.

State police are investigating the cause of the blaze, which destroyed the house and damaged several others.
