It happened around 6:30 p.m. Friday in the 2200 block of Catherine Street.
The victim is identified as 18-year-old Jamal Lel who resided at the 2200 block of Catharine Street.
Police believe the victim was shot outside and then ran back inside his home where police and medics found him.
He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made.
