Suspect sought in two Phila. bank robberies

PHILADELPHIA - May 17, 2010

The first heist happened at the Beneficial Bank at 826 East Allegheny Avenue on Monday, May 10th. The second robbery was at the Third Federal Bank branch at 2330 East York Street on Saturday, May 15th.

Investigators say, in both robberies, the suspect made threatening demands to the tellers and left the banks on foot after obtaining cash. No one was hurt in either case.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 40's, 5'7" tall, medium build, with scruffy facial hair. In both robberies, the man wore dark sunglasses and had a hood pulled up over his head. In Saturday's robbery, he was wearing a "Pitt" hooded sweatshirt.

There may be a reward for information leading to this subject's capture, and tipsters can remain anonymous.
