2 areas affected by water main breaks

PHILADELPHIA - May 26, 2010 Around 8:00 p.m., a 6-inch water main ruptured along the 3000 block of Rosehill Street in West Kensington.

Water service to the street was shut down.

30-40 customers are without service.

A similar problem is experienced along the 7000 block of Greenway Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia.

A 6-inch main gave way shortly before 7:00 p.m.

30-40 customers are without service in this location, too.

Repairs are expected on both mains tomorrow.

Water department crews will deliver water to those affected in both areas.

There is no word on what caused either break.
